Yoga Retreat in Bali

Step away from the noise and give yourself a few days of quiet above the rice terraces. Our yoga and Ayurveda retreats in Ubud, Bali combine daily Hatha and Vinyasa practice, guided meditation and traditional Ayurvedic therapies in the green heart of the island.

Retreats run all year and suit every level — whether you are new to yoga or have practised for years.

Introduction

A Retreat Built Around Rest, Not Routine

A yoga retreat is not a holiday and it is not a course — it sits somewhere gently in between. At Bali Yoga Community in Ubud, our retreats give you the structure of daily practice without the pressure of assessment. You wake to birdsong instead of alarms, move through asana as the sun rises over the rice fields, and spend the rest of the day exactly as your body asks you to.

Each day opens with pranayama and a gentle Hatha session, followed by a sattvic breakfast prepared with seasonal, locally grown ingredients. Afternoons are yours — book an Ayurvedic massage, join a philosophy talk, walk to the riverside temples, or simply rest. Evenings close with restorative yoga, meditation and kirtan under the stars.

Because our groups stay small, our teachers get to know you by name and adjust the practice to suit you. Whether you arrive to recover from burnout, to deepen an existing practice, or simply to breathe for a while, you will find the space to do it here.

Accommodation & Food

Where You Stay, What You Eat

Clean, comfortable rooms with mountain views and three sattvic meals a day — so the only thing you have to think about is your practice.

Your Room

Every room looks out over the rice terraces or the valley below. Rooms are cleaned daily, have an attached bathroom with hot and cold running water, and stay quiet enough to sleep deeply.

  • Private rooms with a double bed and balcony
  • Twin-share rooms for friends travelling together
  • Single rooms with wardrobe and writing desk
  • Air-conditioned options available on request
  • Fresh linen, towels and daily housekeeping
  • Free Wi-Fi, filtered drinking water and laundry service

Your Meals

Our kitchen is purely sattvic — three fresh vegetarian meals a day, cooked with seasonal produce from local farms. We serve no meat, no fish and no eggs anywhere on campus. Sattvic food is light, easy to digest and traditionally considered the diet that best supports a steady yoga practice.

Tell us before you arrive if you are vegan, gluten-free or have any allergies — our cook will adjust your plate, not your experience.

  • Breakfast — seasonal fruit, porridge, poha or upma with herbal tea
  • Lunch — the main meal: dal, sabzi, rice, roti and salad
  • Dinner — a lighter supper served early for better sleep
  • Pure vegetarian — strictly no meat, fish or eggs
  • Ayurvedic herbal teas available through the day
  • Vegan, gluten-free and allergy-friendly options
FAQs

Questions Guests Ask Us Most

Still unsure about something? Write to us and a real person will answer — usually the same day.

Not at all. Most of our retreat guests are complete beginners or return after long breaks. Classes are taught in small groups, so your teacher can offer easier or deeper variations of every posture. If you have practised for years, tell us on arrival and we will keep you challenged.
